I enjoy working with complete beginners and intermediate students, especially those learning Arabic for religious reasons or who simply want to start speaking. I keep my explanations simple and suited to the student in front of me, and I'm patient with mistakes — I'll correct you as we go, so nothing settles in wrongly. My lessons are built around conversation and practice: I want you talking as much as possible, and I focus on using the language rather than memorizing it. Alongside Modern Standard Arabic and conversation, I teach tajweed, recitation and Quran memorization. I hold a university degree in Arabic, a certificate in teaching non-native speakers, and an ijazah in the Quran.
